Thanks, Hinge
We first clapped eyes on each other on Hinge in late 2021. Having absolutely no game whatsoever, Eddy sent a tame opening message and then waited two weeks for Chris to acknowledge it…
Eddy was delighted (& relieved!) when Chris disregarded his naff conversation starter and seemed interested in getting to know him.
The romancin’ begins…
In January 2022, we met for the first time in person. This began a fun & frenetic spree of four dates in 10 days, the most memorable of which was our second date. It was a Sunday lunch at The Cutty Sark pub in Greenwich, London, on a small rickety table under the stairs.
We both knew that we had something special from that day onwards!
Travel & getting to know eachother
Our first year together had some amazing travel experiences, including going to Phuket for Christine’s 30th birthday, and Sydney for a wedding.
In addition to travel, year one saw beautiful introductions to one another’s friends and family, and lots of quality time spent together.
The proposal…
Relationships have their ups and downs, and we are really proud of how we have dealt with various challenges and only gotten closer and more invested in one another. We are best friends and partners for everything life has in store!
In late 2024, after a wonderful Christmas spent with family, Eddy surprised Chris with a Cotswolds getaway at Thyme.
On 28th December 2024, Chris was booked in for manicure and massage at the Thyme spa. When she returned, Eddy was ready with champagne and flowers in a secluded front patio, ready to pop the question…
…the only miscalculation was, Christine was still in her spa gear! It was too late though, the show had to go on!
So Eddy, all dressed up, handed dressing gown-clad Chris a handwritten letter. Chris asks for such a letter every Christmas. This year was different though… on the final page the letter read ‘Will you marry me?’
Despite being very surprised and in her dressing gown, Chris said YES!
‘Building’ a future
We purchased our Bedford home together in April 2025. We chose Bedford because it is close to some of our beloved family, and- much like our life together- is full of promise and opportunity!
Currently we are embarking on some ambitious renovation works… hopefully these will be done before the wedding!
We’ve been honing our project management skills, and discovering all the hidden treasures and secrets that this 118 year-old building has to offer.
Can’t wait to host you at the house once it’s complete.
